Artist Statement:
This photoshoot was just a lot of fun, for both me and my friends, and I think anyone could tell by looking at these photos. We were all laughing the whole time. I'm not really sure how I came up with the theme "half goofy, half serious portraits". It just came to me. I texted my friends on Sunday of this week (Easter), because I was very "busy" watching NCAA gymnastics all weekend (IT WAS NATIONALS! GIVE ME A BREAK!!). They all agreed, and I shot over three days, the first day just being practice portraits for Lily and Nadya. The second day, we went to mine and Grace's secret natural light area and I retook Nadya and Lily's portraits (to be safe) and took Grace's portraits. The third day. I took Nate and Penelope's portraits. We also had John and Nadya with us, and that just made it more fun (and distracting, but its whatever). I did consider blurring backgrounds and changing some backgrounds, but I was too lazy. After shooting, I modified my theme and added the (well, mostly goofy) and portraits in quotes.
I do like how they came out, my favorites being Nate's, with Grace as a close second. There's one thing I absolutely hate, and that's pictures where people aren't smiling. Like I can't stress how much I hate it. But I do like Nate's picture not smiling. And I ABSOLUTELY love the other one of Nate. I love Grace's just because it's more that I was expecting out of her. I do like all of them though.
